LETHBRIDGE, AB – If you plan on having a few drinks this holiday season, you might want to think again before getting behind the wheel.
The Lethbridge Police Service is launching its annual holiday season impaired driving check stop campaign this weekend .
This year brings with it some changes, as LPS will be taking extra precautions due to the COVID-19 pandemic in order to keep both drivers and officers safe at the Check Stop locations.
This will also be the first check stop campaign police will be armed with new sanctions under Bill 21.
Not only will the new law allow officers to administer stricter penalties on the road, it should streamline the process and allow them more time to nab impaired drivers.
