Lethbridge city clerk calling it a career after nearly 40 years

Lethbridge’s long time City Clerk is retiring.

After nearly 40 years working for the City, Aleta Neufeld is calling it a career. She was recognized for all her work at the start of this week’s City Council meeting.

Neufeld told Council it truly has been a pleasure to serve the community.

“Regardless of how best to describe this roll, what I know today is how much I’ve loved being the city clerk for this organization. What will stand out in my mind and heart as I look back is the people I’ve had the privilege to work with.”

Neufeld has spent the last seven years of her job working with the City as Clerk.

Besides providing information to council and organizing meetings, one of the other jobs that Neufeld has been responsible for is being the returning officer for civic elections.
