“Significant” quantity of stolen cable recovered by Lethbridge Police

LETHBRIDGE, AB – A Lethbridge man is facing charges in relation to a large quantity of stolen cable.

On Thursday this week, police recovered a substantial amount of high-voltage, aluminum-core, underground cable from a rental vehicle on the city’s north side.

Lethbridge Police are now trying to find out just where all this cable came from.

It’s labelled: ‘General Cable 1000KCML CPT Blocked’ with manufacturing dates on the cable including, but not limited to, July, May and April of 2019.

LPS say it appears it may have been removed from a construction site or contractor with a large spool of cable on site.

30 year old Timothy Clements has been charged with possession of stolen property in relation to the investigation.

Anyone who knows the origin of the stolen property, or has information on a recent wire theft, is asked to contact Const. Darroch via email at Ryan.Darroch@lethbridgepolice.ca
