A 34 year old woman is facing charges in connection to an assault and robbery on the city’s west side.
Tuesday (June 13) just before 7:30 pm, LPS went to a home on Simon Fraser Boulevard after reports that 68 year old man being assaulted in his garage.
Lethbridge Police say the man had just arrived home and parked his vehicle inside, when a woman allegedly came in through the garage door, yelled at the victim, and then demanded his car keys.
When the man refused, police say the woman wrapped her purse straps around his neck and started to choke him. The victim managed to break free and when he tried to use his phone to call for help, police allege the suspect grabbed it from him and took off.
34 year old Amber Yvonne Herdman is facing a number of charges including robbery and assault with a weapon.
She currently remains behind bars awaiting a release hearing.
