April 7th officially declared Green Shirt Day in Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, AB – A day that encourages organ and tissue donation is getting an extra special place in Lethbridge.

City Council has voted unanimously to declare April 7th as Green Shirt Day, recognizing the impact Logan Boulet’s legacy has had in inspiring Canadians to talk to their families about donating.

When Logan died following the Humboldt Broncos bus crash in 2018, his parents donated his organs saving six lives.

City Councillor Blaine Hyggen brought the resolution forward this week and says because of Logan’s selfless act, it’s estimated 150 thousand people registered to become organ donors following the accident.

In this special case, City Council voted to provide an exception to declaring proclamations.
