TABER, AB – Two people are dead following a three vehicle crash late last week north of Taber.
Emergency crews were called out on Friday, July 16 around 4:00 pm to a head-on collision along Highway 36. RCMP say a southbound cargo van crossed the centre line and slammed into an oncoming passenger van.
Police say the driver’s of both vans, a 33 year old man and 72 year old man, were killed. Both men are from Taber.
Two passengers in those vans were taken to hospital in Calgary and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
A third vehicle was also involved in the crash, when a car hit the passenger van. Two people in that vehicle were treated on scene and released.
Taber/Vauxhall RCMP say the investigation into the crash is ongoing. The names of those killed are not being released.
