STANDOFF, AB – A leadership change within the Blood Tribe Police Service.
Last Wednesday, the Blood Tribe Police Commission gave notice to terminate its existing contract with Chief of Police Kyle Melting Tallow.
Melting Tallow was named Police Chief in July 2018 after spending two years in an acting Police Chief capacity.
Commission Chair, Dexter Bruised Head, said in a press release, the departure was deemed termination without cause and all terms were met by both parties.
Sergeant Grant Buckskin has been named as the interim Police Chief.
The commission says he brings 30 years of policing experience and is a member of the Blood Tribe.
