GLEICHEN, AB – A southern Alberta First Nation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the federal government to help create road map for renewing their relationship.
Under the co-developed MOU, Siksika Nation and the Government of Canada will work together to explore new ways of advancing the community’s vision for greater self-determination.
Chief Ouray Crowfoot says Siksika looks forward to developing a new fiscal arrangement with Canada, one that will fulfill the true spirit and intent of the Treaty and one that will address many issues that have long been under-funded and overlooked.
Siksika Nation is located southeast of Strathmore.
