Hwy 3 traffic expected to be busy as B.C. slowly starts to re-open after floods

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Alberta is likely going to soon start to see an increase in traffic volumes as Highway 3 in British Columbia reopens to essential traffic.

It’s currently the only highway open from the Lower Mainland.

A large volume of traffic, especially commercial carriers, will be heading east out of B.C. into Alberta in the coming days and motorists are asked to find alternate routes to avoid congestion.

Delays on Highway 3 are expected as the traffic picks up and heavier volumes on Highways 2 and 22 are also anticipated.

For anyone considering a trip to British Columbia, travel is restricted to essential traffic only on certain routes within the province so plan your route accordingly.
