Former Lethbridge massage therapist going to trial for alleged sexual assault

A brief preliminary hearing on Tuesday (July 2) finding there is enough evidence for a former Lethbridge massage therapist to proceed to trial.

Cyprien Mudenge, 53, is accused of touching a 35-year old woman inappropriately last November during a massage treatment. The woman cannot be identified due to a court ordered publication ban.

Mudenge has been let go from his job.

After hearing testimony from the alleged victim, Mudenge’s lawyer consented to go to trial on one count of sexual assault. He has already elected to have his case heard by a Court of Queen’s Bench justice.

Mudenge will be back in a Lethbridge courtroom on August 12 for his arraignment.
