Great start to 13th annual “23 Days of Christmas” campaign for Meals on Wheels

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Meals on Wheels “23 Days of Christmas” campaign is underway for yet another year.

This is the 13th annual event which is a partnership between the Teamworks Career Centre and Select People Solutions.

On average, about 2,000 meals are delivered around the City of Lethbridge leading up to Christmas.

Ryan Miller, President of Teamworks Training, says this year’s campaign is already off to a fantastic start.

“We have 99% of our days already sponsored for the Meals on Wheels organization,” says Miller. “What’s left to do is to continue to go ahead and get some people involved in this great campaign and get people to the Italian Table, Cuppers, and Urban Grocer to buy a fantastic Christmas card and sponsor even more meals for the Meals on Wheels organization.”

Businesses, community groups, and individuals can support the campaign by becoming Honorary Chefs and sponsoring a full day of meals, or by sponsoring a single meal by purchasing a special Meals on Wheels Christmas Card. Honorary Chefs also have the option to assist with delivering meals on their sponsored day. This has become a popular tradition for many businesses.

A special $20 Christmas card can be purchased at Cupper’s Coffe & Tea, Urban Grocer, or Italian Table which includes a $20.00 gift certificate for their business. For every card purchased, these great partners will donate $10.00 to sponsor one meal.

The campaign has raised over $250,000 for Meals on Wheels since it began in 2008.
