LETHBRIDGE, AB – Another feather in the cap for Lethbridge College.
The local post-secondary has been named a Healthy Canada Workplace Great Employer for a third straight year.
The college is just one of only a dozen places across the country given the designation this year for efforts to foster physically and psychologically safe and healthy workplaces.
One highlight for Lethbridge College this year is the launching of its LC Cares: Stronger Together Health and Wellness Strategy. It promotes an inclusive healthy learning and work environment for all students and employees.
Another is the college’s Coming Together in a Holistic Way Niitsitapi Strategy that continues its commitment to truth and reconciliation.
Laura Morden, Human Resources consultant and acting co-chair of the Health and Wellness Strategy Committee, says this award is a way for Lethbridge College to continue to look at what its doing every year to support a healthy workplace. “The nomination looks for continual improvement. Our institution’s work of promoting a healthy workplace never stops, and we see great work happening across our college.”
Canada’s Healthy Workplace Month is celebrated in October with support from Excellence Canada, an independent not-for-profit organization that is committed to advancing organizational excellence across Canada.
