Lethbridge College moves to online learning to start winter semester in January

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge College is following the university’s lead and temporarily moving to online classes in January.

With a rise in COVID-19 cases due to the Omicron variant and simply out of an abundance of caution, officials at the college have decided to make the change for the start of the winter semester.

Lethbridge College President, Dr. Paula Burns says they’re committed to going back to in-person learning as soon as they can, but she feels this is the right step now given the situation.

All scheduled classes at the college for January 6th and 7th are now cancelled except for apprenticeship classes.

From January 10th to the 21st, as many classes as possible will move online.

All on-campus events scheduled prior to Jan. 21st, including New Student Orientation, will be postponed or cancelled, while employees are being asked to work from home if possible.

The U of L made a similar announcement this week regarding its schedule after the Christmas break.
