University of Lethbridge & U of L faculty union hit snag in contract talks

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The University of Lethbridge Faculty Association and the post-secondary’s Board of Governors at have reached an impasse in collective bargaining.

Among the unresolved issues is what the union says is unsatisfactory pay.

Union negotiator Joy Morris says frontline teaching staff members are paid substantially less than colleagues at any of these institutions.

A statement released by the board’s negotiating team says its goal is to continue to bargain in good faith with the union within the fiscal realities facing publicly-funded universities in Alberta

Other items still on the bargaining table are equity and respect.
