Air Show returning to Lethbridge this summer

The Lethbridge International Air Show will be back at the Lethbridge Airport this summer.

The family-friendly event will be on July 30-31 and will feature planes, jets and helicopters. There will be a classic car show and shine, courtesy of the Le Barons Car Club and monster truck rides, according to The Lethbridge International Air Show Association.

“We are excited to present the airshow again and are looking forward to many years to come again,” said Brant Irwin, president of the Lethbridge International Airshow. “We have done this airshow for a long time for the city of Lethbridge.”

He said F-18 jets are confirmed for the show, which are sure to be a crowd pleaser, along with a wingwalker, but the Snowbirds will not be there because of a scheduling conflict.

“A lot of people love seeing the planes in the air, whether they are the prop driven or the jet or the helicopter or what have you. A lot of people just love seeing that,” Irwin said.

Alongside the air show will be a food truck fair, featuring more than 10 vendors.

“The Lethbridge International Airshow has been a staple in the community for decades, providing entertainment for people of all ages and after a four year pause we’re excited to bring back this Canadian renowned show to Southern Alberta,” reads a news release from the association.

Irwin said the show attracts people to Lethbridge and provides economic benefit to the city.
