Community Foundation opens grant fund applications

The Community Foundation of Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta has opened applications for a pair of grants for its fall 2022 cycle. Applications are now being accepted for the Community Priorities and the Henry S. Varley Fund for Rural Life grants programs.

The Community priorities Fund is the organization’s largest grant program. It will distribute over $500,000 this year through two calls for applications.

The Henry S. Varley Fund for Rural Life supports projects and initiatives from community organizations committed to sustaining a high quality of life throughout rural Southwestern Alberta, according to the foundation. It grants to rural projects that demonstrate innovation, community collaboration, education and training.

Applications for both grants are due by October 17.

“It’s always a pleasure for us to launch our grants programs,” said Charleen Davidson, executive director. “It’s exciting to see the various projects that are taking place throughout our community. These projects enhance everyone’s quality of life and it’s fantastic for us to be a part of that by supporting these initiatives.”

More information on eligibility, funding criteria, and access to the applications for grants at the Community Foundation is available on the Community Foundation website.
