Updated: Lethbridge police look for man in connection to gas station thefts

Update: Lethbridge police say a 36-year-old Coalhurst man has turned himself in. Travis Ian Darr faces charges of robbery and theft under $5,000. He was released from custody and is scheduled in court on Nov. 16.

Lethbridge police are asking for assistance locating a man in connection to a robbery.

Officers were called to a report of a robbery at Gas Plus in the 100 block of Jerry Potts Boulevard West around 2:15 p.m on Sept. 6.

“A male subject stole a carton of cigarettes and when confronted he pushed the employee before he fled the scene on foot southbound on Jerry Potts Boulevard,” reads a news release from police. “There were no injuries involved.”

Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) said it believes the man was involved in another robbery on Sept. 13, where a carton of cigarettes was stolen from a Safeway gas bar at Fairway Plaza around 8:30 p.m.

The subject is described as a Caucasian male between 30 and 40 years old, between five-foot-10 and six-foot-one, and weighing between 190 and 220 pounds. He has red/blond hair in a mullet-style cut, facial hair and was wearing glasses, according to police.

LPS asks anyone with information to call the department or Crime Stoppers and reference file #22019711.
