Lethbridge police warn of possible congestion issues tied to Friday morning court appearance

Drivers are being warned about some possible slowdowns in sections of the city this morning as an influx of vehicles are expected to arrive in relation to a high profile court appearance.

Lethbridge Police says they’re expecting a sizeable crowd to arrive in the city in support of three people charged in connection with the Coutts Blockade earlier this year. Authorities say they are anticipating a large gathering at the provincial court house while the proceedings take place inside.

Parking to accommodate commercial vehicles will be available at the Enmax Centre, Exhibition Park, just off eastbound Highway 3 in the river valley across from Tollestrup Construction and the Brewery Gardens by taking the 1 Avenue South exit off eastbound Highway 3. Parking for regular passenger vehicles is available throughout the city.
