Lethbridge County: slow down around workers on rural roads

Lethbridge County wants people to slow down in construction zones and other areas where people are working.

The County says each year, crews frequently experience incidents of speeding and reckless driving.

Fines for speeding through construction zones double when workers are present.

Drivers are also asked to be courteous when approaching and passing workers that are not in a designated construction zone.

For instance, crews working in graders and on mowers along gravel roads are put at risk when vehicles pass at high speeds, projecting rocks and other debris.

Lethbridge County CAO Ann Mitchell says slowing down ensures a safer workplace for everyone.
