Lethbridge Country Club hosting Canadian junior girls golf

Top junior golfers from across North America will be in Lethbridge next week to compete in the Canadian Junior Girls Championship.

It’s taking place at the Lethbridge Country Club July 30th to August 2nd.

The golf course’s general manager, Brian Huculak says this tournament is a pretty big deal. “The best part of this is we like growing the game. It’s great to see some of the best (young female) golfers in Canada come here and play is very exciting.”

Local golfers include Chelsea Joseph of Lethbridge, Alanna Makarchuk of Taber, and Camryn Frasz of Brooks. There are as many as 150 of the top junior girls golfers in North America set to play at the Country Club.

Huculak says the quality of play will be excellent. “I think any local golf enthusiast would be blown away by how great these young players hit. It is free to come spectate and we welcome anyone who’s interested in coming down.”

A practice round will be held Monday (July 29) prior to the championship’s opening round on Tuesday (July 30).
