Property tax notices to be mailed this week, due June 30th

Property owners in Lethbridge can expect to get their tax notice in the mail this month. The city says all property tax notices will be mailed out on May 24 and taxes are due by June 30.

Property owners who do not get their notice before June 1 can log into MyCity at Lethbridge.ca and register their property using information provided on the assessment notice mailed in January. Anyone who needs help can also call 311 or email [email protected].

The city s also advising that delays at the Alberta Land Title Office could mean some people may have possession of their property, but nit be registered on the title yet—if this happens and you do not get a tax assessment, the city says it can get a copy with proof of ownership.

Late payment penalties will not be waived for people who do not receive their tax notice.

Payments can be made in person at city hall, at your bank, online or through the phone. A seven per cent penalty will be applied to all unpaid 2023 tax balances as of July.

There is also a monthly payment plan, which provides property owners will an annual discount credit of two per cent. The city says property owners whose 2023 taxes are paid in full can sign up for the Tax Instalment Prepayment Plan before July 20 to be enrolled in the program for next year.
