Target Hunger still looking for volunteers until Saturday

Lethbridge food banks are still looking for volunteers for the annual Target Hunger food drive, and residents have until midnight on Saturday to apply online.

This year, both the Lethbridge Food Bank and Interfaith Food Bank are reaching for a combined goal of 50,000 pounds of food donations.

Volunteers are needed to help deliver the food donation bags to homes, and then collect them again on June 10th. According to Executive Director of the Interfaith Food Bank, Danielle McIntyre, there are still some routes left to fill as well as volunteers needed to pick up the bags after they’re filled.

“The website will continue to accept signups online until Saturday at midnight, after which the food banks will coordinate any outstanding volunteer duties, so community members only have a couple days to sign up online,” says McIntyre.

Community members interested in volunteering, can find out more on the Target Hunger website.
