Lethbridge man arrested after SCS paintball shooting incident

Lethbridge Police have arrested a local man in connection to a drive-by paintball shooting outside the Supervised Consumption Site (SCS) over the weekend.

Early Saturday (Aug. 24), someone in a white pick-up truck fired several paintballs from the moving vehicle, hitting an SCS staff member and narrowly missing two clients.

Police say the female staff member was hit multiple times in the leg, arm, torso and face. Following the initial assault, the truck returned within a few seconds and additional paintballs were fired at clients walking along 1st Avenue South, causing them to hit the ground and seek cover behind vehicles.

Police received numerous tips after they issued details of the incident.

On Sunday, officers went to a home and arrested one person and also seized the paintball gun believed to have been used.

29 year old Jesse John James Bulman of Lethbridge is facing charges of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, and causing mischief to property.
