Community consultations to be held on future of Coaldale pool

The Town of Coaldale will be holding a few community consultations this fall regarding the town’s swimming pool.

The outdoor pool closed in mid-July because of a major crack in the filtration system and never re-opened. People in town were shuttled to Stirling over the summer to use the pool there.

The Town of Coaldale says consultation sessions will offer the community insight on a variety of options for the future of the community pool.

A report presented to Town Council this week indicates those options range from doing nothing at all, meaning Coaldale would not have a pool, to finding a partner in the private sector (public-private partnership) to operate a new pool, not owned by the Town.

You can read the full debrief on the pool on page 19 of the Coaldale Town Council Agenda for September 9, 2019 here: Swimming Pool Debrief

Dates for the consultations have yet to be announced.
