Lethbridge manslaughter trial adjourned for one week

A manslaughter trial in Lethbridge Court of Queen’s bench has been adjourned until next week.

The trial for 20 year old Simon Scout and 25 year old Rylan Twigg will resume on Monday (Sept. 23) at which time arguments will continue in a voir dire, whether or not a video statement and re-enactment by Twigg will be allowed as evidence.

The two are accused in the death of 45 year old Kenrick First Rider at his home in north Lethbridge in November 2017.

In the meantime, Scout was released on $5,000 in a mid-trial bail hearing with the justice noting he poses no risk to public safety.

Twigg is also expected to have a bail hearing Friday morning (Sept. 20).
