“This is really what we are about.” Says General Manager Laurie Scheurkogel of the logo. “Here at Lealta we are really big on building relationships with our customers, with our suppliers and within the community. This is the unique factor in what we do.”
As a building supplier for everyone from contractors to the DIY hobbyist. Lealta has a wide variety of product, well-stocked display areas and sample projects in-store for inspiration; but what you see when you walk through the doors at 240 Stafford Dr. N. is not all you get.
Customers looking for a specialty item or some ideas for their project need look no further than Lealta’s helpful staff.
Going Above and Beyond for you
“If you’re looking for something special, our guys will look for it for you and they will find it.” says Scheurkogel. “The guys here are super knowledgeable and are more than happy to help anyone who walks in the door.”
Because Lealta’s staff works hard to maintain good relationships with vendors and suppliers, those benefits are passed down to their customers as well. Any issues with a product can be quickly and easily dealt with, because Lealta knows its suppliers will back their product up. And quality is seldom an issue, as Lealta is careful to only stock the highest quality product.
“These relationships we build with customers and vendors are what put us in a totally different spectrum.” says Scheurkogel. “We’re able to get things done for our customers. We can find things you can’t find in other stores.”
In her 15 years with Lealta, Scheurkogel has been privileged to watch many new customers become old friends.
Not just a business; Lealta is part of your community
Lealta’s commitment to building together also extends far beyond just the people who walk in the door. Owners, Dave and Tammy Jackson, are committed to building relationships in the community. Lealta is a supporter of Youth One, Beauty From the Inside Out, and the Gord Laurie Foundation. The company also donates regularly to fundraising events such as the YWCA golf tournament. In addition, the company reaches out to the high schools every year to offer summer employment in their yard to a high school student looking to gain work experience.
“We try to donate as much as we can.” says Scheurkogel. “We’re very focused on being actively involved in the community.”
First opened in 1960 by Eugene Modrzejewski; Lealta operated as ACE Hardware until the Jacksons bought it in 2012. Dave and Tammy are proud to keep Lealta Building Supplies a family-owned, family-run local business that enthusiastically supports other local businesses.
Lealta Building Supplies is open from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Stop by and see what we can build together!
