Alberta Budget 2019 includes money for new pedestrian bridge in Lethbridge

The Alberta government announcing a few highway projects receiving funding in Budget 2019.

It includes $4.4-billion to repair and build highways across the province but there is no money set aside for any twinning of Highway 3.

Here in Lethbridge, construction of a new pedestrian bridge on Scenic Drive over Highway 3 is on the books though.

Mayor Chris Spearman says the new bridge will help complete the pedestrian-bike route.

Intersection improvements are also on the way for the Coalhurst southeast area collector road off Highway 25 and Township Road 92.

The provincial government has also earmarked money for the design phase of some wildlife mitigation projects in the Lundbreck area.
