Two Lethbridge women are facing serious charges after a taxi driver was robbed at knife point and his cab stolen.
Just before 8am on Monday, an injured man flagged down a police officer in the Tim Hortons parking lot along Mildred Dobbs Boulevard.
The 68 year old reported he had been dispatched to pick up a customer at 7-Eleven on 13th street north and when he arrived, two women got into the cab.
During the drive the woman in the front seat brought out a knife and told him the woman in the back had a gun.
The man stopped the vehicle and after a brief struggle, escaped, but the suspects took off with his cab and his belongings.
The stolen cab was found abandoned in a north side alley and police followed two sets of footprints to a home along the 2000 block of 13th avenue north where one of the suspects was identified and arrested.
The second suspect was located and arrested a short time later.
31 year old Kimberlie Eagle Speaker and 38 year old Jessica Eagle Speaker are facing several charges including robbery, uttering threats and possession of a dangerous weapon.
Both were released from custody to appear in court at a later date.
