Observant neighbour alerts Vulcan RCMP to suspicious activity on rural property

Two break and enter suspects have been arrested and charged thanks to an observant neighbour in the Vulcan area.

RCMP say they received a 911 call on Friday evening and headed out to the rural property on Highway 529.

No one was home at the time and the owners hadn’t given permission for anyone to be there.

Mounties found two people in a garage with a cube van and arrested them without incident.

Vulcan RCMP Sergeant Troy Dobson says “this is a great example of neighbours watching out for neighbours and allowing the RCMP to handle suspicious situations.” He says “in this case, the situation was handled with no threat to public safety.”

53 year old Robert Enrique Sanchez Anazco and 52 year old Ligaya Alinsugay Yerbury have been charged with break and enter and theft.

Both were released on bail and are due back in Lethbridge Provincial Court December 9th.
