Five teenagers charged in relation to north Lethbridge stabbing

Lethbridge Police have laid charges against five teenagers in relation to a recent stabbing on the north side.

Officers were called to an alley along the 200 block of Mayor Magrath Drive north just before midnight Thursday where they found a 16 year old boy with multiple stab wounds.

He was taken to Chinook Regional Hospital with serious injuries and then transferred to Calgary where he remains in stable condition.

Police allege the victim made plans to meet with an 18 year old woman but when he showed up he was led down an alley where he was swarmed by a group of people and punched, kicked and stabbed several times.

18 year old Trinity Savard and 19 year old Alexander Strya, both of Lethbridge, have been charged with aggravated assault.

Two 16 year old boys and a 17 year old boy are also charged in relation to the incident but can’t be named.

All have been released from custody with court dates in the New Year with the exception of Strya who remains in custody to appear in Lethbridge Provincial Court Dec. 9.
