Target Hunger 2019 brings in about 42,000 pounds of food for Lethbridge food banks

Lethbridge Food Banks are thanking the community for donating almost 42,000 pounds of food on Saturday.

The annual Target Hunger city-wide food drive also collected nearly $3,500 in financial contributions.

While food donations were down slightly, compared to 48,000 pounds last year, organizers say they are happy to see an increase in financial donations made online.

The food collected will provide the Lethbridge Food Bank and Interfaith Food Bank with two weeks of stock to help local families.

If you missed pick-up on Saturday morning, you can still bring filled Target Hunger bags to both food banks and local grocery store collection bins.

Or you can donate online here.
