Lethbridge dealership donates vehicle to woman in need

LETHBRIDGE, AB – A Lethbridge woman, who’s vehicle was totalled shortly after she lost her job, is back on the road thanks to the generosity of a local dealership.

Carole Hutchison slid into a pole in icy conditions leaving her with only $1,500 to spend on another vehicle.

She made a Facebook post in search of a reliable, affordable car which, in a strange coincidence, made its way to Hutch Orr via one of his salespeople.

He’s the Manager and Owner of House of Cars who also happened to witness the accident and stopped to assist.

Hutchison says he offered to help find a replacement, just something to get her from A to B and to get her three kids around, but was shocked Wednesday when she showed up at the dealership to see a 2012 GMC Terrain with a bow on it.

Holding back tears she says “I was told it was going to be just, you know, a little 2004 Ford Fiesta and I thought ‘great, a four door automatic, I can get back on the road.’ I was really not expecting this. It’s overly generous.”

Hutchison also gets to keep her $1,500 in the bank.

Orr says House of Cars relies on community support year round and is always looking for ways to give back.
