Lethbridge, Logan Boulet Arena nominated for Kraft Hockeyville 2021

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge has once again been nominated for the Kraft Hockeyville contest, trying to become the big winner for 2021.

Nancy Mitchell submitted the official nomination for the Logan Boulet Arena (formerly known as the Adams Ice Centre) last week, saying the rink, which was originally built in 1961, could use the $250,000 grand prize for some much needed upgrades. She adds that it would be thrilling for the community, as well, to host an NHL game here.

Last year, the Logan Boulet Arena didn’t make it to the top four finalists. Twillingate, NL ended up winning the 2020 competition.

Only one Alberta community has been named Kraft Hockeyville since the contest started back in 2006. That was Sylvan Lake in 2014.

The top four communities will be announced on Saturday (Mar. 20).

You can support the Logan Boulet Arena nomination by casting your votes on the Kraft Hockeyville website.

I started my radio career in 2015, shortly after graduating from Lethbridge College. I have a very strong passion for local news. Proudly born in 1994, I grew up most of my life in Sylvan Lake, AB and I've lived in the Lethbridge since 2012. I'm a below average golfer on a good day, I take as many hiking trips to Waterton as possible in the summer and I love my two cats, Outlaw and Jynx, and my dog, Maverick, more than most people I know. I look forward to providing accurate, timely news coverage in southern Alberta for plenty of years to come!
