FOREMOST, AB – Three people – two of them wanted on Canada wide warrants – were recently arrested on fraud charges near Taber.
The RCMP’s Southern Alberta Crime Reduction Unit, along with Lethbridge Police, had been investigating multiple frauds reported between April 19 and June 8.
Alleged crimes spanned across southern Alberta and into southern Saskatchewan.
On June 23, officers pulled over a vehicle on Highway 3 near Grassy Lake and arrested one suspect for possession of stolen property.
The other two took off in the pick-up truck and trailer unit and were later arrested near Foremost.
38 year old Mark Boivin and 33 year old Nathan Roscovich of no fixed address, and 41 year old Denise Larouche of Beaver County (southeast of Edmonton) are all jointly charged with:
- Â possession of stolen property over $5000
- Â possession of stolen property under $5000
- Â Fraud over $5000 (x9)
- Â Fraud under $5000 (x3)
Boivin and Larouche have also been jointly charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking (x2) while Boivin and Roscovich have been jointly charged with flight from a Peace officer and mischief under $5000.
Larouche is also charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Boivin has additional charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, utter a forged document, and operate a conveyance while prohibited.
Roscovich is also charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.
Both Mark Boivin and Nathan Roscovich were wanted on Canada wide warrants for being unlawfully at large at the time they were arrested.
RCMP say a stolen 2020 Dodge 3500 Bighorn and stolen licence plate were recovered. Prescription medications, suspected Gamma-Hydroxybutirate (GHB), methamphetamine and Psilocybin (mushrooms), were also located and seized from inside the vehicle and enclosed trailer.
The investigation is on-going as police process hundreds of other recovered items, including the enclosed trailer the suspect vehicle was pulling.
Larouche was released on $600 bail while Boivin and Roscovich remain in jail. All are due in Taber Provincial Court on Aug. 10.
