Lethbridge lotto winner paying off debt, saving for child’s education

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Paul Kenway from Lethbridge is the first-ever top prize winner of Alberta’s “Big Spin” lottery wheel.

He purchased a $10 “The Bigger Spin” scratch ticket in March from the Red Apple Store in Coaldale. Kenway won an initial $10,000 prize, and then had the chance on July 16 to spin a real wheel at the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission office in St. Albert.

Needless to say, he was grinning from ear-to-ear when the wheel stopped on the $1-million grand prize (watch below).

Kenway says he’s thrilled to be completely debt-free because of the win, and he’ll also be putting some money aside for his children’s education.

I started my radio career in 2015, shortly after graduating from Lethbridge College. I have a very strong passion for local news. Proudly born in 1994, I grew up most of my life in Sylvan Lake, AB and I've lived in the Lethbridge since 2012. I'm a below average golfer on a good day, I take as many hiking trips to Waterton as possible in the summer and I love my two cats, Outlaw and Jynx, and my dog, Maverick, more than most people I know. I look forward to providing accurate, timely news coverage in southern Alberta for plenty of years to come!
