Alberta allowing liquor with food at some day-use areas

Select provincial parks like Beauvais Lake in the Crowsnest Pass are now allowing liquor in day-use areas.

It’s part of the new UCP government’s commitment to relax liquor bans in Alberta parks.

As of noon on Friday, June 28th, a total of 14 of Alberta’s day-use area picnic sites will begin permitting liquor consumption with food.

That includes the Beaver Creek day use area in Beauvais Lake as well as the East Elkwater day use in Cypress Hills Provincial Park and the main day use area of Dinosaur Provincial Park northeast of Brooks.

All approved sites will have signs indicating liquor consumption is allowed from 11am to 9pm.
