LETHBRIDGE, AB – This is probably the last thing students at the University of Lethbridge want to hear.
The local post-secondary says due to concerns around the COVID-19 Omicron variant, all classes will be moving online until at least January 21, 2022.
In a website post, the U of L says the January 5th start date for the semester will not change, though professors will be given some flexibility should they need it during the first week.
Students will contacted directly if their course will be impacted.
The University says starting the Spring 2022 semester online for a short period will allow for some certainty for the immediate future. The decision impacts both the U of L’s Lethbridge and Calgary campuses.
The U of L notes it plans to return to in-person learning as soon as it’s safe to do so. You read the release from the University here: 2022 Spring Semester to begin online
