Gusty chinook wind results in a pair of semi flip-overs near Fort Macleod

FORT MACLEOD, AB – High wind is to blame for two tractor trailers being blown off Highway 2 on Tuesday afternoon.

Fort Macleod RCMP say they first responded when a southbound truck had been blown off at about the halfway point between Granum and Fort Macleod. The driver suffered minor
injuries.

Gusts were clocked at close to 100 km/h ion the region.

The second incident occurred just south of Granum, but police say there are no other
details available at this time. Drivers were being told there were periods of reduced
visibility because blowing dust.
