Lethbridge’s Indigenous Recovery Coaching Program gets one year extension

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge’s Indigenous Recovery Coaching Program has received a funding extension for 2022.

The money comes from a federal grant under the Urban Programing for Indigenous People funding stream.

The original alottment of cash was to be completed this March, but the success of this one-of-a-kind pilot program has given it new life.

Recovery Coach, Cherie Shot Both Sides says it is essential for her community as the result of an increased need for support for those struggling with addiction.

Recovery Coaching is a recovery-oriented, community-based, and culturally informed recovery coaching program, working with those in Lethbridge who’ve been struggling with methamphetamine or opioid use.
