KeepAlbertaRCMP community engagement tour comes to Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The union representing the Royal Canadian Mounted Police want to remain the police force of record in Alberta, and they are coming to Lethbridge to tell you why.

From January 18 to February 3 the National Police Federation’s KeepAlbertaRCMP community engagement meetings will continue across Southern Alberta to share information related to the provincial government’s proposed policing transition.

Both in-person and virtual sessions will enable participants to share their questions and concerns directly with panelists. The Lethbridge event will take place at the Main Library Branch at 2:00 p.m. on January 19.

Provincial COVID-19 health and safety guidelines will be followed, including proof of vaccination and mask requirements.

The federation says the engagement tour is a direct response to the Government of Alberta consultation tour which will inform a decision about the future of the RCMP in Alberta this spring.

The National Police Federation represents 20,000 RCMP Members serving across Canada and internationally.
