A pair of Lethbridge residents will be rolling into summer with deeper pockets than they had ever anticipated, this after two lottery jackpots were claimed in the city.
William Eldridge is one of two winners. Eldridge said he quickly ran to the nearest store with a ticket checker and quickly discovered he had the winning MONOPOLY 100X ZING ticket, and won $200,000.
Following his big win, Eldridge says he plans to finish up some home renovations and pay off his mortage.
“Once I confirmed it was a winner I took it straight home and put it in the safe,” Eldridge said.
After scanning his LOTTO 6/49 ticket twice using the Lotto Spot! App, Ivan Upton discovered that he had won $100,000 on the EXTRA he added to his ticket for the draw on March 29.
“It feels good to win,” Upton said while claiming his prize. Upton says he plans on investing in a new gaming computer.
Eldridge purchased his winning MONOPOLY 100X ticket at Canadian Tire Gas Bar, located at 1240 2A Avenue North, while Upton purchased his ticket from Club Cigar Store located at 301 5 Street South.
