Updated: Lethbridge Police investigating sudden death

Update: Lethbridge police say the victim was identified as a 28-year-old Lethbridge man and his death was not considered criminal in nature. LPS says no further information will be released.

A body was located after Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services attended to a fire on the north side on Thursday.

Lethbridge Police are investigating a sudden death after Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services responded to a report of a fire located in the outside stairwell of a home along the 2100 block of 5th Avenue North at approximately 6:35 pm on Thursday.

While crews were extinguishing the fire a body was located.

Lethbridge Police say the investigation is still in the early stages and as of Thursday evening, no further information would be released.
