Lethbridge police seized about $140,000 worth of drugs, along with weapons and stolen property at a north side home this week. As part of an investigation started in September this year, members of the Lethbridge Police crime suppression team executed a search warrant at a home on Nov. 23. A 51 year old man is facing multiple charges in connection to the investigation. Police did not provide his name, to protect the identity of a child determined to be living at the home. Police say Child and Family Services was contacted.
During the search, officers found fentanyl, MDMA, cocaine, methamphetamine, Oxycontin and an assortment of narcotic pills. Police also seized a loaded rifle, sawed off rifle, three homemade guns, two conducted energy weapons, a butterfly knife, mace, brass knuckles, a sword and ammunition, as well as nearly $13,000 in cash proceeds of crime and an assortment of stolen property including an e-bike, electronics, tools and body armour.
The man faces charges including five counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, four counts of possession of stolen property, along with various firearm related charges.
A woman who was arrested in connection to the investigation at after a traffic stop is facing a charge of causing a child to be drug endangered. Police say she could also not be named to protect the identity of the child.
The man was remanded in custody and is scheduled in court Dec. 1. The woman was released from custody and is scheduled in court on Jan. 10.
