Crowd gathers outside Lethbridge courthouse as accused make appearance in relation to 2022 Coutts blockade

The Lethbridge Police Service and Alberta Sheriffs had a presence at the Lethbridge courthouse on June 12 as people gathered to show support for four men facing charges in connection to the Coutts border blockade last year.

Anthony Olienick, Chris Lysak, Chris Carbert and Jerry Morin are facing charges including conspiracy to commit murder after police seized weapons, ammunition and body armour during the blockade in February 2022.

The men were set to make a court appearance on June 12 in Lethbridge and the crowd gathered outside wearing white, many carrying signs calling for justice.

There were some road closures around the courthouse while the crowd was present, along with LPS officers and Sheriffs.
