Rental rates in Lethbridge remain among the lowest in the country

For the fourth month in a row, rental rates in Lethbridge remain among the lowest in Canada out of the 35 municipalities included for the month of May in the latest rental report from Rentals.ca and Urbanation.

In the latest report Lethbridge finished 32nd on the list, with a one bedroom apartment on average cost $1,161 up 10.2 per cent compared to May of last year, while the average two bedroom apartment is $1,349 up 10.4 per cent from 2022. Month over month the average one bedroom apartment was down 1.3 per cent, while a two bedroom saw a 1.1 per cent increase.

Across Alberta rent was up 13 per cent, with a one bedroom costing $1,371 and a two bedroom $1,695. Respectively Red Deer and Edmonton finished 29th and 31st on the list, while Calgary came in 27th. Grande Prairie had the lowest rental rate in May out of all the municipalities included in the report, while Vancouver and Toronto continue to have two of the highest rental rates across the country.
