Chief Mountain border crossing closes for the season

The Chief Mountain border crossing will close for the season as of 6 p.m. on Sept. 30.

The border crossing near Waterton sits at 5,649 feet and is the highest in Canada. It is only operational from May to September because of harsh winter conditions.

Travellers can still use the Carway and Coutts crossings through the winter.
