Tourism Lethbridge wins national award for culinary experience

Tourism Lethbridge has won a national award celebrating culinary tourism. The Culinary Tourism Alliance Culinary Tourism Experience Award was presented by the Tourism Association of Canada as part of the Canadian tourism Awards 2023.

“Food is such an integral part of the visitor experience. Approximately a third of a visitor’s spend is on food. As the destination management organization in Lethbridge, we’re committed to cultivating rich relationships with those in the agri-food space and telling their stories to a broader audience,” says Jarom Scott, director of brand development at Tourism Lethbridge. “This award helps amplify our food message and highlight the work in this region regarding planting, producing, preparing, and presenting food.”

Agrifood has been a focus for Tourism Lethbridge, with many initiatives showcasing regional businesses.

“We talk a lot about AgriFood tourism and differentiate ourselves because our region is focused on food production and feeding the world. We have an opportunity to share this with the rest of the world and showcase not only the great products produced in our region but also our way of life,” said Erin Crane, CEO of Tourism Lethbridge, when Tourism Lethbridge was selected as a finalist for the award earlier this month.
