Lethbridge trio face charges connected to $26K worth of drugs seized

Three people are facing charges in connection to tens of thousands of dollars worth of drugs and cash seized from several cars and a pair of Southside homes.

According to officials, in November, members of the Crime Suppression Team and Property Crimes Unit started investigating suspected drug trafficking. During the investigation, police say they witnessed the suspects allegedly exhibiting behaviours that are consistent with drug trafficking. On Thursday, November 23rd, police executed search warrants on two southside houses and a trio of vehicles.

The searches resulted in police seizing $26,600 worth of cocaine, meth, prescription narcotics, marijuana, and a buffing agent. Along with the drugs, police also found $40,000 in cash, two rifles and ammunition.

Thirty-five-year-old Melissa Bacon and 41-year-old Andrew Jonathan Bacon are both facing charges for possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime.

Thirty-seven-year-old Jeffrey Neumann faces charges for possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, careless use/storage of a firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

The trio have been released from custody and are next scheduled to appear in court on January 19th, 2024. A fourth person, a 34-year-old woman, was also arrested but released without charges.
