Monarch man charged in connection to Picture Butte break in

Police have laid charges against a 36 year-old-man in connection to an alleged break-and-enter at a Salon in Picture Butte at the end of December.

According to Coaldale RCMP, police received a report of the alleged break-in on December 27th, and during their investigation found the suspect had allegedly written cheques to himself that he took during the break-in. On Thursday, January 4th mounties executed a search warrant at a Monarch home believed to be connected to the incident where they seized a .22 calibre rifle and ammunition, meth, and “other pieces of evidence”

Lance Trapp is facing firearm-related charges along with charges for fraud and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and failing to comply with a summons.

Trapp was remanded into custody after appearing before a just of the peace and is scheduled to next appear in Lethbridge provincial court on January 5th.
