Hop on over to Coaldale’s second annual Easter event

Families across the region can hop on down the bunny trail to Coaldale’s Second Annual Easter eggs-travaganza Mar. 30.

From photos with the Easter Bunny and wagon rides to a petting zoo and egg decorating – the day will be fun for the whole family. There’s also an all-ages colouring contest to be judged by Town council.

“Given the success of last year’s event, we thought it would be a good idea to stick with a similar format and once again offer a host of activities that everyone can enjoy,” says Clayton Varjassy, community experience manager. “Last year, we had over 300 people. Our hope is to see just as many, if not more, come out this year.”

This year’s event will also feature an Easter Egg Word Hunt with the Easter Bunny.

“To join in the fun, all you have to do is track down a series of word clues that have been placed at various playgrounds throughout Coaldale. These clues can be used to complete a broken sentence. Once complete, participants can present this sentence to event staff in exchange for a treat from the Easter Bunny during the event,” says the Town of Coaldale.

Coaldale Mayor Jack Van Rijn says the colouring contest is another fantastic way to drum up excitement for the event and to get more people involved.

“As a council, we strongly believe in putting on Town events that bring the community together, so we’re delighted to participate and are looking forward to seeing all of the amazing entries.”

For more information about the Easter Egg Word Hunt, including details of where each of the word clues have been hidden, visit coaldale.ca. The event runs from 1-3:30 in the Civic Square Atrium.
